OSHA FINES INCREASE TODAY: WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Today, March 27th, marks the implementation of OSHA’s instance-by-instance (IBI) rule, which will have a significant impact on Respiratory Protection audits. Instead of facility-wide fines for non-compliance, fines will now be imposed on a per-employee basis, meaning that for every employee out of compliance, employers will face a fine of $15,625.

If you haven’t already, now is the time to take a look at your Respiratory Protection Program and do some serious QAPI (Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement). You don’t want to risk facing those fines, so make sure your program is up to date and in compliance with OSHA’s standards. And if you need any help or have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us here at Mobile Health. We’re the 39-year experts here to help you navigate these changes and keep your workplace safe and compliant.

When performing QAPI, focus on these 2 elements of OSHA compliance:

RESPIRATOR FIT TESTING & OSHA MEDICAL EVALUATIONS

Are all of your employees up to date on their annual fit test? Do you have the records to prove it? If not, Mobile Health offers on-site respirator fit testing that is both flexible and rapid. We send online medical evaluations to your employees in advance, set up our clinic in your facility, and provide clearance cards and digital records on the same day.

A WRITTEN RESPIRATORY PROTECTION PROGRAM

Did you know it’s not enough to simply purchase the right respirators, perform online medical evaluations, and conduct annual fit testing? You have to have a written plan of action. OSHA calls this your ‘Written Respiratory Protection program.’ Mobile Health has templates for all industries and facility types to get you started. Message us to get your template today.
